Meet Our Summer Interns!

Four college students have joined QBC for a summer of research, conservation, and hands-on learning on the water and in the field. Meet our newest interns and learn how we’re helping build Maine’s future marine science workforce.

Welcoming the Next Generation of Marine Scientists

Summer has officially begun at Quahog Bay Conservancy, and with it comes the arrival of our 2026 internship cohort. We are excited to welcome four talented students to our team: Blue, Sofia, Mary, Cora, representing the University of Maine, Bates College, and Michigan State University.

Over the coming months, these interns will gain hands-on experience in marine science, conservation, aquaculture, water quality monitoring, and community engagement. They will work alongside QBC staff and partners in the field, on the water, and in the lab while contributing directly to projects that support the health of Quahog Bay.

One of the most rewarding parts of our work is helping create pathways into marine science careers. Through mentorship, field experience, and exposure to real-world conservation challenges, our internship program gives students the opportunity to develop skills that will serve them throughout their careers.

These four students are already off to a strong start, bringing enthusiasm, curiosity, and fresh perspectives to our work. We look forward to introducing them to the community and seeing what they accomplish this summer.
